A lovely walk, which takes in one of the most picturesque riverside sections of the Dales Way. Our route crosses beautiful fields and meadows with wonderful views right from the start. An undemanding walk which should take no more than four hours at a steady pace, but do allow some time to explore the delightful villages of Burnsall and Linton and make this a truly enjoyable family day out. The film buffs amongst you will no doubt recognise the riverside location in Burnsall where the 'Marks & Spencer's Cake' scene in Calendar Girls was shot. You can sit on the same wooden seat on the green beside the bridge and enjoy the view.
Put a small towel in your rucksack - if it's a sunny day you'll be tempted to paddle.
The historic market town of Grassington with its many tea rooms, hotels and inns, is probably best visited at the end of your walk.
