The walk, like most in the area, starts with a steep climb but after that it is fairly easy, with good tracks and signposting leading to excellent viewpoints. You are not likely to meet many other walkers and the whole thing is a very pleasant experience and quite adventurous, as the Forestry Commission, who devised this walk, has taken it onto paths that you would not normally go on, so remote and narrow are they.

A suggestion: From waypoint 24, rather than follow the road, cross the road and go down the path to the river. You reach the river near a small bridge. Do not cross but proceed East along the river to waypoint 4. You will see a very beautiful rocky river gorge with modest falls, which to us was the highlight of the walk.
