This is a popular route with dog-walkers, giving you a lot of visual 'bang' for not too much expenditure of energy. It is basically an 'out-and-back' with a loop at the end, so route-finding is pretty easy. It is all on forest tracks; you could do it with a buggy if you don't mind pushing up a few slopes. The rewards are wonderful views, both to the south (the whole sweep of the Lomonds) and the north (the Tay and Earn rivers across to the Tay Bridge and Dundee, with the Sidlaw Hills behind).

We walked the Pitmedden circuit on Sunday and there’s no sign of any logging activity now, apart from a few sections of track having been slightly widened and filled in with gravel. No clear felling to be seen, at least on our route.

10-04-2009 We attempted to take this walk last weekend but found not only the car park, but also the forest walk closed due to logging. No timescales indicated for closure.
