This walk begins high and stays high, so that there is relatively little climbing for the views offered. These are largely to the north and include the great bend of the Mersey towards its mouth, backed by the Pennines. Much of the route is through mature woodland and the waymarking is excellent. The walk goes along the edge of the sandstone cliffs above Frodsham where there is one little scramble, but it is very easy, very low and with no exposure at all, adding an extra interest to part of the walk.

A very pleasant and dog friendly walk with great views for little effort. Our Cocker spaniel dislikes stiles so he was very pleased to find that the 3 stiles mentioned have all been replaced by dog friendly kissing gates. Oh and by the way the "scramble" really is very easy.
