The walk starts at the picturesque moated manor-house of Baddesley Clinton (National Trust), probably first established in the 13th Century and largely unaltered for 500 years. Baddesley Clinton was the home of the Ferrers family from 1517 and has an interesting history. There are guided tours explaining the history of the house and family. During the Reformation the house was a haven for persecuted Catholics. It is said that the three priest holes (one in a sewer level with the moat) could hide up to 25 people. You will hear and see accounts by people who hid there and amazingly, none were ever caught at this house.

Also on the walk, the Grand Union Canal and its junction to the Stratford-on-Avon Canal, the sleepy village of Rowington, in season ducks, horses, lambs, calves, plus the railway and an attractive old church with woods full of bluebells in spring.
