Birkenhead Park - (circular)

Compiled in January 2016, this is an excellent place for a summer afternoon stroll, listening to children laughing, birds singing, and ducks quacking. Feed the pigeons and admire the boldness of the tame squirrels coming close to beg for nuts. Good for children, senior citizens, and everyone in-between; also good for dogs, wheelchairs & buggies. It is a circular walk round the park and especially the two delightful landscaped and meandering lakes with the Swiss style cover footpath bridge ornamenting the lower park lake; (See photo on the right). The whole of the walk is along hard paths so suitable footwear will be anything comfortable. There are refreshments and toilets in the modern pavilion close to the main entrance and next to the bowling greens. There are numerous benches for the occasional rest from walking, but no picnic tables.

To avoid errors, carefully read through the navigation instructions for each section before you start to walk it. At the beginning of most sections is a view to look for at a junction to send you in the correct direction, but sometimes it's a view to look out for to keep you on the correct route.
