Blaenavon - Carreg Maen Taro - Blaenavon

This is a free sample walk but you need to log in as a member of Walkingworld to access the details. Join or log in above if you are already a member.

This walk starts in Blaenavon, now part of a World Heritage Site. It takes in some sites, but anyone with the time could also visit Big Pit and the Ironworks. After walking along a quarry track on Coity Mountain, it takes you up to Carreg Maen Taro. Reputed to be the site of a battle, it is an old Boundary stone, bearing M (for Monmouthshire) on one side and B (Breconshire) on the other.
