The walk takes us from the old Whinstone Quarry car park of Craster up to Craster South Farm, then along to Dunstan. From here we cross the fields to Dunstan Steads and down to the links, along the side of the golf course to Dunstanburgh Castle (dating back to 1313), then back along the coastal path to Craster, with a visit to the home of the famous 'Craster Kipper'.

In summer: Path between 7 and 8 very faint and you have to wade through waist high grass. As you pass through the gate at 8 go right to the edge between the wild margin and the farmers crop. The path runs between the two and is narrow but clear from this point to 10 and you will avoid the 50 metres of thistles and nettles just after the gate. Despite above comments, a great walk with lovely views throughout.

Car park now 7 pounds all day. Point 7 path between fields indistinct. Point 8 is now a gate. Point 9 gate disappeared. Very nice easy walk.
