Did this walk in torrential rain, driven by strong winds and in 10°C temp on 4 October 2020. Thoroughly enjoyable, but will do again on a warm, clear, sunny day, to enjoy the views!!! ??. Just a couple of things to add: Car park £6/day cash only A number of stiles were in need of repair and may be difficult to negotiate for some

Did this walk today in the sunshine. Lovely walk. The climb up to the South Downs Way is steep but well worth it for the views. We parked in Poynings by the Royal Oak and started from point 2 thinking that we could finish at the pub and have something to eat, but even at 2.30pm it was very busy and had a 1hr wait for food so be warned:)

I did this walk on a clear and sunny 25th March 2012. It's a lovely walk of two halves - the first at low level through the farmland and the second up high on the South Downs Way. Both beautiful in different ways. At points 6,7 and 8 don't bother going up the steps out of the field if you aren't going to the pub - just carry on out of the field as described in point 8.

We followed this route in a lovely summers day at the beginning of June 2007. We changed it slightly by starting in Poynings by the Royal Oak pub. This is an excellent walk. Mostly flat and easy with one short sharp climb up onto the South Downs Way. The views from the top of the South Down Way are superb. If you're in the area and considering an easy to moderate walk then I would recommend this one.
