A gravelled path was laid a few years ago from Aira Force linking to an existing woodland path to Glenridding, but using it was limited by the difficulty of returning to the start. The building of a pier at Aira Force and the creation of a new steamer route now makes this an attractive proposition. The walk is almost level and the new path is very easy underfoot, although the woodland path can be tricky in places. The walk can be done either way and has the added attraction of having refreshments and toilets halfway round, whichever way you go. The scenery is superb throughout and the walk is suitable for families. The walk is part of the Ullswater Way (opened 2016) and you will find the new signs with the daffodil logo.
