This part of Pembrokeshire is rich in long- and short-distance trails. The Miners' Walk is one of the shorter ones but is rich in history. Most of the Miners' Walk follows the old tramways and there are information boards along the route, as well as a leaflet available free from information centres. On this walk we follow the Miners' Walk from Kilgetty until Waymark 11, when we leave to return to Kilgetty through Kilgetty Woods. The Miners' Walk is also used as part of the route of Walk 4018.

After WM 5 an electric fence has been erected over next two fields right up to the edge of the path. Unfortunately this means that the path is extremely narrow with brambles and nettles on the left and an electrified fence on the right. Care should be taken here especially with children.

We walked this on 13th May in sunshine. Lovely varied walk; thank you Pat. Didn’t feel like 200m height gain. Midway between WPs 11 and 12 the instructions say to ignore the yellow arrow of the waymarked path and continue down the track. At several points between here and waymark 14 where you return to the public road there are signs on gates facing the opposite direction saying “private land” and “no trespassing”. We didn’t have a problem, but it isn’t clear if this is a right of way or not.

At point 11 where there is a stony track off to the right and a green track going down this has been completely dug up and is now a mud track to the right and a mud track going down (no stones to be seen).
