Landkey is a small village near Barnstaple. It has a very fine 15th Century church in which there is a monument to Sir Arthur Acland. Another famous former resident was John Gay, who wrote 'The Beggar's Opera'. Landkey is also famous for the mazzard fruit. This walk takes us through the mazzard orchard to Goodleigh and back via Harford Woods and Acland Barton.

17/05/2020. A pleasant walk with good views at the top. Some of the stiles at the start have been replaced with kissing gates thankfully, much better for us older folk with dodgy knees. Very nice indeed.

Varied countryside and lane walking, plenty of stiles to! (to me, they make a real walk) Going through Harford Woods was a delight, stream to your right, banks of blue bells on your left. There's a few fallen trees to negotiate along the path, but no real problem. Sat behind the church at Goodleigh for our lunch, with views for miles. Walk details spot on.
