This walk from Lansallos along to Polruan and the natural deep water harbour of Fowey takes you along the South West Coastal path along mainly National Trust-owned coastline. The path is particularly well-maintained in this area. There are superb views as you might expect and the usual ups and downs associated with coastal path walking.

Once you reach the coast path SW of Lansallos you walk by at least four beaches; the final one at Lantic Bay is by far the biggest (and hardest to get to). When I walked the route on August Bank Holiday Sunday 2003, the Cornish weather was absolutely perfect, clear blue skies, temperatures in the high twenties and very little wind. Lantic Bay and Beach could have so easily been a Greek Island beach but with better Cornish coastal scenery naturally, a perfect spot!!

The views from Pencarrow Head have to be seen to be believed - stunning is the word. As you round the final headland to Polruan, the views into the yachtsman's paradise of Fowey are almost indescribable. Polruan sits on the east side of Fowey's harbour and is quiet and very picturesque, compared with the hustle and bustle of Fowey on the other bank.

The return to Lansallos is initially up through woods alongside Pont Pill and the old churches of Lanteglos and Lansallos are well worth visits in their own right.

This is really a splendid walk and very popular with locals and visitors alike who spend time in this area.

A lovely walk with the directions still absolutely bang on. The only thing I would make fellow walkers aware of is a slippery section at waymark 19 where a concrete path down the side of the houses exists. Deadly when wet so take care but a really enjoyable walk nevertheless.

An excellent walk with some very varied scenery. Please note that as of 10 July 14 the coastal path is blocked between Grid SX 126 509 & SX 127 510. This is due to a dangerous retaining wall. The diversion avoiding this section is well signposted but involves a climb up the hill from Polruan and then a descent back to re join the path along the bank of Pont Pill

I did this walk on Boxing Day 2011 - and it's a gem. The coast path from the start point is stunning - tough going in places in the mud but the views more than compensate. Highly recommended.

A truly outstanding walk, but be prepared to huff and puff! it's a real up and down walk and a long ramble!. Fowey is nice but there is little to do on the bit where this walk brings you out, you can get refreshments, use the toilets and get an ice cream. Note that the toilets at the start of the walk were permanently closed in 2004, the walk should therefore be updated to reflect this information. 9/10.
