From the Andalucian Hunting Headquarters on the edge of Archidona, North Eastern Malaga province, the walk climbs up a valley, with delightful morning views of the Peña de los Enamorados, up to the edge of the Marin Gorge. The route goes out onto a goat track and footpath along the edge of the gorge, with views down into the gorge (see Walk 4399) and across to Sierra Gorda, with the wind farm, Sierra Gibalto, the mountain mass in the centre, with the Sierras de Trabuco to the right behind the other side of the gorge. There is a short stretch down this track where the loose stony surface has to be descended with care just after the first crest. The goat track goes round past a ruin and back out onto further cart-tracks, to come out to splendid views of Archidona and the hermitage above. You descend into the town centre to pass the nunnery into the unique octagonal square. Around here there are bars and restaurants in abundance. You climb back up ancient streets to a hermitage and the cemetery and then descend to your car.
