Leave the Visitor Centre, cross the Red Bridge and turn left onto a well-made track. Cross the A6053 and continue north by the filled-in canal as far as the B6209. After passing through Leverhulme Park, the A58 is crossed and a 3km stretch by the river brings you to the last crossing of the walk, the A678. A wooded river section leads to Jumbles Reservoir and its self-styled tea gardens (good value).

There is plenty of access for wheelchair users in the park, despite stiles.

Please note this is the second half of a long distance trail and is not a circular walk.

A very pleasant walk, with much of it through woods by water. The kids enjoyed it too. However, we do think it would be helpful if it was pointed out in big letters or symbol at the first summary to say that it is not a circular walk. All other walks, which we have done, end where they start. However, this one finishes 6 miles away which was not great for the 6 kids with us. The taxi back to Moses Gate was not expensive but a clear sign by the title of the walk would help avoid this mistake. The Royal Oak pub no longer exists - it is some disco bar/bistro which was not for families. Otherwise, very green a pleasant with added colour from bluebells and the flowering rhododendrons.
