Needham Market main street is soon left behind as the route takes to farmland via a narrow track. Delightful sections follow tree-lined bridleways and usually well-manicured field margins to arrive at the tiny village of Offton. The route back skirts Barking Tye, where a 'PH' is marked on the OS maps. This however, was closed at the time of writing, so check the Barking website before making a diversion in search of sustenance. The return to Needham Market is along a busy road, but there is a footpath throughout.
