New Line - Lee Quarry - Greens Moor Quarry - New Line

This walk can be split into three sections as follows:
Section 1) starts at the car park for New Line picnic site. You follow a path slightly uphill along the route of an old railway line between Bacup and Rochdale. You leave the railway line to climb up to the moors in Bacup before passing a covered reservoir. A path is then followed across the moor before dropping down into the first quarry.
Section 2) the route follows parts of several cycle routes through the two quarries, passing the remains of a saw-mill which would have been used to saw stone slabs etc. You leave the quarries to walk across another moor before returning to the second quarry alongside and above a small stream.
Section 3) you cross back into the quarries and continue along the edge before dropping down to walk through some woodland and reach a footpath or track. There is then a downhill section to reach a main road and then along two roads to reach a local park. The path through the park follows a section alongside a small stream before exiting the park and climbing back up to the track you left earlier. This is then followed back to the start point, passing through a farmyard and past some industrial units. There is another short section along the main road and then alongside the reservoir towards the end of the walk.

The routes through the quarries and the park are not visible on the map but are quite clear on the ground. There is only one stile on this walk although a lot of the route is along stony tracks. Street names are added for GPS users.
