From Parwich the path runs almost in a straight line, initially following a small brook. This is left behind and the route goes on to the small village of Bradbourne with its attractive small church. The ground is undulating along the route as we drop gradually down to Ballidon. This is just a small collection of houses and a farm. The main interest is in the old Norman chapel and the platform foundations of the medieval village.

Continuing on by Ballidon Quarry, the path passes along an attractive dale to turn left along a side dale. This leads onto a quiet lane, then onto a long straight lane before turning off to skirt halfway up Parwich Hill and back to the village. The views along the way are quite extensive in all directions, giving a walk that is a brief respite from the hurly-burly of the fast-moving modern world.

30/05/2015 - Ian Cutler

Just completed this walk 30/05/15 The best view on this walk was our car on returning to car park.. Awful, scrap materials all over the start of the walk, overgrown and non existent paths, broken stiles, bridge in need of repair, stinking farms, with old tyres, concrete blocks, neglected cows in what can only be described as condemned buildings. A lorry park by a quarry..The worst walk ever done and we've done many hundreds, it's where we live, Derbyshire. No views worth seeing, Parwich OK but deserted, first and last time, sorry. No need for anyone to go do this..
