The Fife Pilgrim Way is a new long-distance path across Fife, tracing the route taken by pilgrims heading to the shrine of St Andrew at the eponymously named St Andrews. This is the first leg, from the old pilgrim landing point at North Queensferry, named for Scotland's Queen Margaret, who established a ferry for pilgrims here in the 11th Century. It passes the 14th Century friary hospitum (used by pilgrims) in Inverkeithing before passing through Rosyth, sharing the Coast Path for a while to reach St Margaret's shrine at Dunfermline Abbey.
