The walk is a varied clifftop experience along one of the most beautiful stretches of the North Yorkshire coastline. Rock pooling, fossil-hunting or just mooching along the beach can be enjoyed when the tide is out, whilst the clifftop parts provide fantastic views along this coastline. Robin Hood's Bay itself is a charming fishing village tumbling down the sides of the valley to the sea. It is deservedly popular, but still retains a village charm. All facilities can be found here.

2.7.14 We wanted to walk from Ravenscar to Whitby where we were staying so did part of this walk with the Robin Hood's Bay to Whitby one. There was no bus to Ravenscar so we got a taxi - £21. Was worth every penny. Brilliant walk although we were willing Whitby Abbey to appear at the end!

We walked this in late December. The ground was very muddy and it proved hard going along the coast. I don't believe the distance quoted - I measured it at 7 miles, but the timing (180 mins) is correct. This aside, it is an excellent walk and thoroughly recommended.

Excellent Walk. Very Scenic. We walked from Staintondale to Ravenscar which adds another 4 mile (round trip). Tide tables available at this link http://www.digiserve.co.uk/ukfr/gbtide.htm (scarborough). Highly recommend this walk! Thank you Graham!
