Rushup Edge - Brown Knoll - Jacob's Ladder - Barber Booth - Rushup Edge

The Great Ridge between Mam Tor and Lose Hill is a great favourite for its extensive views. Why not for a change go the other way along the much quieter Rushup Edge? Views along the ridge and down into the Edale Valley are very scenic in all directions. Then a change occurs as the walk continues across open moorland to the summit of Brown Knoll and on to pick up the Pennine Way at the top of Jacob's Ladder. The topography now changes again for the last leg across flat meadows before rising back to the start point. This is a most exhilarating walk with good views across a great variety of terrain.

This was an excellent walk with outstanding views in all directions. The terrain is varied from moorland to meadows. Would highly recommend.

The stone path across the moor has now been completed between Waymarks 4 & 7 making the route much easier to traverse. Walk description and photographs have now been amended. Thanks to Graham for highlighting the change.

Walked 13/08/16. Excellent walk with some great scenery. The path across the moor between waypoint 4 and waypoint 6 is undergoing restoration work and a lot of the path has now been flagged. I presume the work is still ongoing as there are a lot of flags stored alongside the path ready to be laid. Some un-flagged parts of the path can be very boggy so some care is still needed on these sections. Deolman
