Starting from the charming village of Spelsbury, then on to the edge of Charlbury, before reaching Chadlington on the way to Dean, this walk is completely rural, through some lovely Cotswold countryside. Footpaths and bridleways lead across meadows and fields, by river and streams and on woodland paths.

Dry-stone walling frequently runs parallel with bridleways and leafy lanes and houses and picturesque cottages and houses are of the same honey-coloured stone. This is a lengthy walk, but not too strenuous, in this area of outstanding natural beauty.

A pleasant enough walk again enjoyed on a glorious summer's morning. I should imagine in Winter that it would be very dull. The instructions were correct but could have been more helpful. At Waymark 4, the footbridge is obscured but it goes over the pond. If you walk further on to get to a wide footbridge and then a narrow shortly after, you have gone too far. I found this out!!At Waymark 7, I think that the path has been diverted. Just follow the way marks and you eventually come to a gate onto the road. Water lane is as its name suggests. There is mud and water to negotiate part of the way in, so beware! At Waymark 6, the kissing gate is located on a corner and you must go through an archway of vegetation. Its best to turn left and keep the hedge on your left following it around and down the slope. Keep your eyes peeled as the gap in the hedge is easy to miss. Its a worn path, sloping down into the wood with a tree across the path, so it looks like that its not the correct way, especially as there is no footpath sign.

Pleasant enough but basically a Plain Jane of a walk. Take a GPS, the directions are not clear in places. Extensive walking over ploughed fields was tedious.

Excellent walk - not remarkable for anything, only genuine beautiful countryside...paths that were reported blocked some time ago are now distinctly clear. Enjoyed it on a warm Summers day.
