We leave the village of Fenwick on the last part of our journey along the St Cuthbert's Way. We pass Fenwick Granary, with its dovecot amongst the outbuildings, to follow the path as it passes an abandoned quarry before continuing through fields and crossing the main North-East Rail line. Crossing the Beal Cast Burn, we are soon onto the foreshore of Beal Sands, where we pass between the concrete blocks that made up the World War II invasion defences to reach the causeway road. After checking the safe crossing times, we make our way along the road to cross the South Low, then have the option of either continuing along the road, or follow the 'Pilgrims' route across the sands to reach the island. The walk finishes at Lindisfarne Priory, where a statue to the saint stands in the grounds, with Lindisfarne Castle standing proud beyond.
