A delightful walk across open fields and meadows with an abundance of wildflowers and butterflies, with one or two good climbs, but the panoramic views make the effort more than worthwhile.

Very pleased we did this walk just into the second 'lockdown' period. The day was cold but with occasional sunshine and the terrain quite varied. Ewelme is a very interesting village and the school, I have since discovered, is said to be the oldest school building still in use in the UK - and it looks nothing like a school! Also worth mentioning the really extensive pig farm to the right of the path between 10 & 11. A good marker that you are on the right track. There is a pub in Ewelme now but closed due to lockdown but lunch on a grassy bank on Swyncombe Downs with great views was a very good substitute.

Really enjoyed this walk. Did it with my two children (12 and 6) and a dog and it was suitable for all. Just some changes I noticed: 9.The "right hand corner" was very confusing. You should carry on across the open field (when we walked they had pigs on both sides of the field) until t-junction with a track (there is a stile opposite) 10.At crossing a track turn right. It seems that the field has been made wider, so the corner of the field does not make sense. Took us a while to understand.

We did this walk in Aug 2005. Conditions were excellent and as stated "A couple of steep climbs but the effort is well worth it for the views" directions were easy to follow and the church at Ewelme must be visited when passing through. It's a great shame there was no pub en-route but it's still a walk I would highly recommend.
