Tasburgh, some 12km south of Norwich along the A140, is our starting point. Other than a post office, there is little in the modern village of interest, but by setting off from here, the larger village of Long Stratton becomes a convenient lunch stop, with several culinary options. The walk runs parallel to the busy A140, then crosses this and the main Norwich – Diss railway line to return alongside the small, but picturesque River Tas. Spring is perhaps, the best time for this route, as there are flowers, blossom and lambs in abundance.

The walk has been rerouted between Long Stratton (WP 11) and The Tas Valley Way (WP 16) along well used footpaths to avoid some difficulties with vegetation reported earlier. The fields alongside the River Tas will always be damp and marshy after wet weather, but plan ahead and this is a lovely section.

I researched this walk in early September for a group walk to take place in October. I only managed from points 11 to 23 (I started in Long Stratton). The stile at 12 was blocked by nettles and the pathway was completely overgrown. There were more nettles at most stiles from there on. Once across the railway line the Tas Valley Way was quite marshy. I gave up at point 23 and headed back to LS.
