This walk is across fields, a mixture of arable and grazing farmland, with no steep hills. Being on a slight plateau above the surrounding area, there are often long views. For about a kilometre the walk follows the Tiffield Pocket Park (The John Mawby Trail), a linear park based on a disused railway trackbed. There are no fewer than four pubs in three villages (Tiffield, Eastcote and two in Gayton) for refreshments. Along the Pocket Park are numerous seats for a rest and children's play areas in Gayton and Tiffield.

Nice walk with some good views. At point 18 before you take a left through the wood just walk over the old railway bridge briefly to experience a piece of land that it seems time has forgotten (a real hidden gem) before you retrace your steps over the bridge again. Also at point 12 near Folly Farm the footpath seems to disappear and it can be confusing to pick up the track again. I suspect it has been gated off?
