Although it is quite a long walk, there are no long climbs and most of it is easy walking. The River Usk is a good salmon river and there is usually plenty of birdlife, including kingfishers. The river rises quite a lot in this section, giving rise to quite a lot of rapids. The views from the higher ground near Betts Newydd are lovely.
