This walk follows the canal from Wednesbury all the way into Birmingham City Centre. The walk begins at the Wednesbury Parkway Midland Metro Station car park. From here we walk along the Walsall Canal through Ocker Hill and Greatbridge (both areas within Tipton) until we reach the junction with the BCN (Birmingham Canal Navigations) Mainline. From here we head through Smethwick and Winson Green before reaching Birmingham City Centre. Along the way we'll see many remnants of Birmingham and the Black Country's industrial past, including Thomas Telford's Galton Bridge.

Had my eye on this walk for a while. Must admit, that 10 miles of canal walking is not my usual type of walk, but the bleak industrial landscape was strangely beautiful. And it led directly to the pubs of Brindly Place. My photos from the day are blogged at - http://mappiman.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/180513-boy-from-black-country.html Thanks for another walk.
