This delightful walk starts at the bus station in the centre of the city of Wells, Somerset. After walking through the high street it takes you past the Bishop's Palace which has been the home of the bishops of the Diocese of Bath and Wells for 800 years, then out into the countryside. The return is through Torr Hill Wood, eventually passing a 14th Century street before walking in front of the magnificent cathedral back into the centre of Wells.

26/12/18 we had a lovely Boxing Day exploring the Cathedral, then lunch then onto this walk. It was quite wet in places but passable. Oh the Bishops Palace was closed for Xmas- check opening times if you particularly want to go. An interesting and well directed walk.

Down for a weekend in Glastonbury/Wells - I pre-loaded this walk and 6759 (6.5 miles) and provided my wife with the choice - although I knew that after a night on the tiles - this one would always win out. Perfect for our needs - we got a great chance to look at Wells in all its finery (Vicars Close a highlight) and then headed into the countryside for some 'real' walking. Any walk that ends with the chance of a cream tea has to be recommended! Thanks for the walk - some photos at my blog - http://mappiman.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/150215-awesome-wells.html
