Starting from the old Saxon burgh of Winchcombe, with its excellent preserved heritage railway, the walk passes the Cohousing Commune in Jacobean Postlip Hall with its 12th Century Chapel, climbs gradually up across the golf course to reach Cleeve Hill summit, before visiting an Iron Age fort, a Neolithic long barrow and enjoying views over Sudeley Castle on the way back to the start.

Cleeve Hill is the highest point in the Cotswolds (over 1,000 feet), so please ensure that you have suitable warm and waterproof clothing for this walk.

After Waypoint 3 you can no longer proceed past the steel gates at the entrance to the paper mill. The mill owners have created a new path that goes around the mill and brings you out at the start of Waypoint 4. This is clearly marked.
