Walking from the charming village of Woodeaton, the route goes to the edge of Elsfield and on to Beckley. Green lanes, field-paths, riverside walking and woodland areas are all aspects of the walk and vast open spaces allow far distant views over Oxfordshire, even a glimpse of the famous John Radcliffe Hospital. This is truly beautiful countryside on the outskirts of Oxford City.

6-8-11 Tricia Daw We complete many walking world walks but today for the first time we had to abandon one! This walk is severely spoiled by the fact that the landowner of the area containing wm 3 to 5 has let the paths grow wild - we needed a machete to get along the path by the Cherwell! The walk was also not the riverside walk I had envisaged as the trees and hedging is so dense you wouldn't know the river was there most of the time. We were very lucky to glance right at the point where the footbridge is as that is poorly sighted/signposted. The owner of the land seemed very keen for us to know where we weren't allowed to walk with clear PRIVATE signs but as I said the footpaths were very overgrown and underused. When we reached the road we turned left and walked back to the car in Woodeaton. Never mind - it is only the first that we've not completed.

Look out for the Kingfisher patrolling the small dyke between waymarks 5 & 6 (whilst walking parallel, to the road).
