This is a great there-and-back coastal walk (7km each way). It has a variety of beach, sandy paths, rocky headlands, plus some luxury villas to check out on the way. There are some bars and cafes by the apartment complexes in Atlanterra where you can stop for refreshments on the way out, on the way back, or both! The walk starts by the Tourist Information Office in the village of Zahara, just in front of the old Castillo on the beachfront. From there it heads west. up to and over the headland at Atlanterra, down to the next beach and then up to the lighthouse at the far end.

Whilst a flat walk the beach is not firm sand so quite hard going. The sandy path behind the dunes is better but still not firm in places. The first part of the walk out of Zahara is now an easy boardwalk . The climb up to the lighthouse should be done via the steps as the sandy paths up the cliff are grown over and walking up the cliff discouraged environmentally. A good walk all around .
