Starting off at the staithe in Stokesby, this walk covers a lovely area of countryside to the north and west of the village. It follows a footpath past open farmland almost as far as Fleggburgh, where it joins a path that heads down alongside Muck Fleet to the River Bure. Along this stretch is a diverse array of wildlife with birds, butterflies and dragonflies all around during the summer months. The stretch along the River Bure is also lovely. There are great views over the farmland on the left and over the reedbeds to the right, with little reed warblers darting around, beautiful to watch.

Walk point 11 says walk for 140 metres and turn left. Quite correct but so easy to miss. I was tempted by the nice track ahead and came across two separate couples, who like me had missed this turn and said this track leads nowhere and definitely not to a road. With the use of my trusty satnav I was able to put all of us on the right path (no pun intended). The problem is that the way marker has fallen over and is laying in deep grass. Roy
