WHY WALKING IN THE LOT IS SUCH A PLEASURE

We may be biased but we reckon that we have some of the best walking country in France. After all, it’s the reason we chose to live here and set up our Bed & Breakfast and provide countryside and walking holidays.

Our converted farmhouse is located high in the hills of the north-east corner of the Lot surrounded by stunning countryside yet close to many popular tourist sites. You can escape the crowds and enjoy the solitude of a landscape that still boasts wildflower meadows, wonderful mixed forests, river valleys and abundant wildlife or you can visit the many picturesque medieval villages that have been designated special places of interest by the French authorities. Our suggested walking holiday itinerary includes it all.

We are experienced walkers having spent many years walking in different parts of Europe. We have used this experience to assemble a walking experience that we believe offers a wonderful variety of sights and sounds. Ranging from high treks with breath-taking panoramas to walks that pass through Protected Regional Wildlife Parks and visit lovely villages.

You can stay with us and make your own walking arrangements or take one of our suggested itineraries where we provide you with all the maps and information which enable you to fully enjoy your experience.

THE ACCOMMODATION

Each of our comfortable bedrooms has been recently renovated and has ensuite toilet and shower facilities. We want you to feel at home - you are welcome to relax in our garden or sit on the bench in our adjacent field where we are currently developing a wildflower meadow. We have a lovely guest lounge with log fire for any chilly evenings and each evening our guests dine together in our dining room.

You can opt for just bed & breakfast or join us for a 4 course evening dinner prepared using fresh and seasonal ingredients. We are also delighted to cater for vegetarian requirements with an imaginative vegetarian option.

Our guests love the peaceful location knowing that all the action they may want is only a short drive away with local restaurants and bars and a host of festivals and animations throughout the year.

SO WHERE IS THIS WONDERFUL PLACE?

We are in the southwest of France on the edge of the Massif Central. Our closest town is St. Cere and we are near to the beautiful villages of Autoire, Loubressac, Carrennac, Turenne and Beaulieu sur Dordogne. The Lot, Cele and Dordogne rivers are a short drive away for those who enjoy canoeing and 10 minutes away, we have a lovely freshwater lake with a beach and restaurant where you can swim and sunbathe (it really is a joy to swim there).

Each direction from the house will take you somewhere different with easy access to the departments of the Aveyron, Correze and Cantal.

Take a look at our website for much more information. We look forward to welcoming you.
