Casa Esteban, POLOPOS, Alpujarras (self-catering )

The small village of Polopos is perfect for walking in the hills near the sea.
The sea is about 4 miles away as the crow flies. Polopos is at a height of 788m above sea level, so it has a spectacular view out to sea. On some exceptionally clear days in winter you can see the range of Atlas mountains in Africa.
The area around Polopos is completely rural, quiet and peaceful, and offers marvelous walking, with hills, deep valleys and ravines. There are 4 walks around Polopos on the walkingworld site, walks 4692 to 4695. Polopos is surrounded by almond trees, olive trees and oranges and a great variety of different plants and flowers. Goats and horses come through the streets.
About 30 miles to the north are the mountains of the Sierra Nevada, the second highest in Europe. All the seasons are perfect for walking, (in winter, daytime temperatures are about 60F), except the middle of summer when it can get too hot to walk far in the middle of the day.
The house is in the village at the edge, ten yards from open countryside. It is on two floors and has 5 rooms plus bathroom and outside terrace and sleeps 3-4. It is simply not luxuriously, furnished with pine and cane furniture, and is a restored typical Andalucian village house. It has all amenities, electric hot water and heating, shower, fridge etc, and a wood-burning stove.
