Homestay Llys-y-Fran

Our Location
In the village of Llys-y-Fran, we are about 65 metres from the Llys-y-Fran Country Park and 200 acre reservoir with it’s spectacular 100 foot dam. Almost in the centre of Pembrokeshire we live in a great region for walking. The 186 miles of the Pembrokeshire Coastal path and the National Park are within easy reach also the beautiful Gwaun Valley. We are on the edge of the Preselli Mountains, which were the source of the bluestones at Stonehenge.

Us
We are a family with a private log cabin available to guests who would like to stay with us. A homestay style B&B with continental breakfast provided in the family kitchen.

The Cabin:
We have one main room, with another available if extra room or accommodation is required. In total we can sleep a minimum of one and a maximum of four. The main room is large with a double bed, clock radio with alarm, WIFI connection & double wardrobe. The adjoining room is slightly smaller and has a double bed settee and will not be let independently if you only book the main room. Each room has a back door that opens straight onto a private veranda which overlooks a stream, woods and fields. There are tea/coffee making facilities included and we supply all bedding, towels and basic toiletries. The rooms are cleaned daily. There is a private adjacent shower and toilet room. Clothes washing and drying facilities are also available.

We have a wide selection of maps, books and leaflets about the local area, and walks in Pembrokeshire. You are quite free to borrow them.

Things to do:
There is walking of course, and there are many footpaths to explore. Drop-off and pick-up can be organised to suit you, and we can provide a packed lunch. Being so close to the reservoir, trout fishing can be arranged, and several of the nearby seaside places offer sea fishing. If you want more excitement then the Swansea Motor Club Hill Climb is held in the Country Park twice a year 10th May and 19th July 2009. Apart from that, there are castles, craft centres, coasteering, abseiling, canoeing, windsurfing, sailing, a choice of activity centres and theme parks and of course St. David’s Cathedral and Bishop’s Palace.

Llys y Fran Reservoir & Country Park has an off road cycle trail (7.5m around the lake – bikes can be hired), country walks, a trout fishery, restaurant and gift shop is within a short walk.
Scolton Manor (3m), near the historic county town of Haverfordwest, has a museum, nature trails, visitor centre and a good tea room – a great family day out.
Haverfordwest Golf Club (1m from the town) is a challenging 18 hole course surrounded by breathtaking rolling countryside.
The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park with its coastal path, beaches and rugged scenery – Strumble Head, Fishguard and Newport to the north, Newgale, Broad Haven, the whole of St Brides Bay to the west and the beautiful Barafundle and Carmarthen Bays to the south – all within an easy drive.
