Wisteria Cottage

Wisteria Cottage is a delightful stone cottage built around 1850 nestled in the charming village of Scorriton in a beautiful area of Dartmoor National Park.
With accommodation on two floors the annexe (attached to the owners cottage) has a private entrance and hallway, a bright open plan lounge-diner-kitchen upstairs, with oak floor, vaulted ceiling and beams, including a fridge, dishwasher & microwave in the kitchen area. Downstairs there is a bedroom with oak floor and super-king bed, and a separate wet room. The annexe has it’s own parking space & is centrally heated. A washing machine & tumble dryer are available for use together with the owner's colourful garden and patio table & chairs. A flat screen TV, DVD, stereo radio/CD player & internet access are all provided together with all bed linen & towels. The property would comfortably accommodate 2 adults but there is room for a cot or small additional bed in the bedroom and there is a double bed settee in the living room.
Sorry no pets or smoking.
You will receive a warm welcome on arrival at Wisteria Cottage including a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, home-made cake & clotted cream from the farm adjacent to the cottage.
Scorriton lies just a few miles away from the Dart Valley, Widdecombe in the Moor, Haytor and Buckfast with it’s popular Abbey. The village is situated on The Two Moors Way long distance footpath with a track opposite the cottage leading directly onto the moor. In fact the whole area is a walker’s paradise. The village is home to the famous Tradesman’s Arms pub, only 100 yards from the cottage, where quality real ales & excellent home cooked food is offered. The community shop and tea rooms can be found in the adjacent village of Holne approx. 2 miles away.
Being keen walkers ourselves we are happy to offer a drop off & pick up service for walkers wishing to walk from one point to another rather than the usual circular.
There are many activities to be found on Dartmoor National Park including organised walks, cycling, kayaking, horse riding & the increasingly popular geocaching & letter-boxing. The quaint town of Totnes, only 9 miles away, provides an array of unique independent shops, tea rooms & coffee shops. The Friday & Saturday markets offer many bargains, local & unusual products.
The A38 Devon Expressway is easily accessible, from where Exeter or Plymouth can be reached in around 30 minutes. The English Riviera is also 30-40 mins away, which is most famous for it’s award winning beaches, and includes the popular resorts of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. Here there is a wealth of attractions, activities & entertainment to choose from. However, it is also easy to find many beautiful more secluded coves for some relaxation, together with the south west coastal path which runs through some stunning scenery.
