Starting from Anglezarke, the walk climbs through Lead Mines Clough, stopping off at a WW2 memorial and then onto the moors to find Round Loaf, an ancient burial mound. The course of Dean Black Brook is followed off the moor to reach White Coppice, with its cricket field and cafe. A walk through The Goit leads to Anglezarke Reservoirs, with excellent views and opportunities to see waterfowl.

Did this walk today, very enjoyable, however the route between way points 8 & 12 walking over the moor was extremely boggy

Just a minor point. Part of the path between waymarks 15 and 16 appears to disappear. The brook has been diverted slightly. You can pass carefully along the hillside, only about 2 feet. The path is then visible again past this obstruction.

Just done this walk couple of points. The car park has a pay & display on it now but did not see any one use it. Waymark 5 the sign to the monument is destroyed but if you stand in front of it there is a path through the trees just to the left of the sign. Waymark 16 we missed the path to the right so went straight down the gorge and it wasn't too bad. The only other thing going over Round Loaf was a bit confusing. Over all we enjoyed the walk and had a very pleasant day. All the Best. Paul & Gill

28/09/08 Nice walk. Unfortunatley the info board at cp5 has been vandalised, so we never found the ww2 monument. Other than that it was an enjoyable walk. Nice views.

Just got back from doing this walk with the family + dog. Still no signpost at the first waypoint. Very wet / boggy walking over the moor towards Round Loaf. Bit confusing when you leave White Coppice (waypoint 19) heading towards the lagre tree as it doesn't tell you to retrace your steps if you stop by the cricket field for lunch as we did. (Kiosk was open but we'd taken sandwiches.) Apart from that, very enjoyable.

17/07/2006 My wife and I are beginners to walking and chose this as our first adventure and as with the other contributors, the directions and advice was "spot-on",the views "stunning" and the level of skills required accurate. We have just done walk 1326 [Anglezarke and Round Loaf circular]. An excellent walk with good directions. We noted the comments of Ian Fairnie [03/10/05] regarding the sign post at the first way point. It is still not there. We found his advice at this point very useful and thoroughly agreed with his assessment of the walk. The refreshment kiosk at White Coppice cricket ground was excellent. 2/10/05 The top of the sign post has 'vanished' at the first way point. Go left, uphill. Other than that all signs are in place and the directions are easy to follow. Some great panoramic views especially from the tumulus. Some parts of the river gorge are quite rocky so good walking shoes are essential. All in all a good, enjoyable walk. Ian Fairnie 3/10/05
