We start the walk from the Northumberland Arms, to walk up through the woodland of Felton Park, out to Felton Fence, where fishing pond and holiday cottages now form the income of this farmstead. Through the surrounding fields, we track back to the banks of the River Coquet and follow the path along it back to Felton, where a Pub lunch awaits us.

13. - The ROW through the field beyond the gate has been ploughed away. 14. Beware - there was a bull + cows + calves in this field.

The walk has changed a bit, the photos no longer help much as gates etc have been altered and paths have been overgrown. 1: Locations 1/2. The ladder stile off the road is no longer there, it's a broken down gate. 2. 10/11/12 have completely changed. After the footbridge follow the marked path passing left of the ridge to a point just beyond it at a path junction. The marker post here has been knocked over. Turn right up hill and bear left to the track & buildings & fishponds. There are no fishing shelters and the holiday lets are actually Felton Fence Farm.

Walked this on 9 Jun 13. At point 10 the footpath has been legally diverted. Instead of continuing up over the ridge follow the diversion to the left. Continue to to the next post (no diversion shown) and instead of following the signed St Oswald's Way footpath (you will return up this path later) turn right and follow below the line of the ridge. Pass the fishing lake on your left and shelters on the right, up the rise through a gate. This will bring you out after point 12 which is slightly behind you. Bear left downhill to arrive at point 13 which really does cross a very small stream which will confirm you are back on track.
