Llanfoist - Brecon & Abergavenny Canal - Govilon - Hill's Tramway

This walk is not long but is full of interest. The outward journey is flat, a peaceful walk along the canal. This is followed by a climb up on to the Blorenge and a walk along Hill's Tramway, with grand views, before a steep descent down the Llanfoist Inclines. There are information boards along the canal, giving details of places of interest in the area.

HI everyone . I walk these inclines regularly and I think I should tell you all to climb up the in-lines not down! In the damp they are very steep and I've seen a few people take some nasty falls from here. SO I would climb the steep bit and come down the lesser risky slopes.

Lovely views, varied scenery, easy to follow. Two pieces of advice - in the early stages the canal crosses a lot of little roads so be careful if you have dogs. Secondly, after going through the wood and going up to the tramway, it can get overgrown with weeds during the summer.
