Here is a level walk passing through a country estate that juts out into the Forth Estuary, thus combining seashore and country. It is easy-going underfoot; you could just about get around with a buggy if you were prepared to lift it at a couple of places. There is some walking on minor roads, but there is pavement throughout.

There are better views out to sea when the trees are bare, lots of daffodils in the spring and a lovely mix of specimen trees in the summer.

A GREAT WALK,LOTS OF INTERESTING THINGS TO SEE ANE A LOVELY LITTLE BEACH HALF WAY ROUND,STOPPED AND HAD A PINT AT QUEENSFERRY,HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

Following the comment stating dogs were not allowed on the Dalmeny estate we did this walk yesterday to catch the last of the autumn colour and passed several dogs. We were doing the walk the other way round and had passed no signs about dogs on entering the estate, so checked particularly carefully at the noticeboard. What it says is that from April to July dog owners should keep their dogs on a lead or under close control to avoid disturbing nesting birds or separating ewes from their lambs. That seems only fair. We could see nothing to suggest that dogs aren't allowed.

It is worth while to follow the shore walk. there is a well worn path, which carries on to the village of Crammond although the ferry no longer runs and Crammond cannot actually be accessed from this point. return back along the path and rejoin the original walk
