Lytham Station - Fairhaven Lake - Lytham Windmill - Lytham Station

This lovely walk is easy for children as it is flat and largely off-road. The route starts at Lytham Station, so is easily accessible by train from either East Lancs and Preston or Blackpool. From Lytham Station the route meanders through Wychwood until you come to and cross the road and railway line near the famous White Church. From here you walk along the coast for a short distance before you come to Fairhaven Lake, where you will find refreshments and toilets. Turning back from Fairhaven Lake, the walk takes you along the seafront promenade all the way to Lytham Windmill. You can then explore the charming town of Lytham before returning to Lytham Station.

Lovely walk through Wychwood with plenty of seats for a picnic. Nice easy stroll back along the seafront - just right for an autumn day. Watch out, though for the geese at Fairhaven Lake - the very sight of a biscuit and they appear en masse!! Afterwards we had a very nice meal at the Lytham Kitchen on Lytham Square.
