From the parking near the Roaches Tea Room (open from late spring to early autumn) the route passes through Upper Hulme, where the garden centre tea room is a big draw. Then a scenic route up a shallow but pretty valley takes you up onto the moor top. The path then crosses to the rugged, amazing Ramshaw Rocks where the rocks are weathered to all types of shapes. There's a rock that looks exactly like a large toad in the grass on the ridge top as you pass by. Then there's a walk across moorland until the path dips down into another lovely valley. Next a walk round Hen Cloud (this is a large rock hill that overlooks the surrounding scenery). Lastlu, back to the start of the walk.
The route is through wilder country, so a good 1.25,000 scale map should be used in conjunction with the literature. Some of the paths are very vague on the ground and the 1:50,000 scale map can be confusing, with the stream appearing to be on the wrong side of the path at one point. Other than this it is a very interesting and pleasurable walk to do.
