This is a lovely walk for all the family to enjoy. Starting near The Flower Pots Inn, you will enjoy a circular tour from Cheriton through Tichborne and back - two delightful Hampshire villages. The gentle route takes you along both the South Downs Way and the Itchen Way, with some superb views and a chance to see plenty of wildlife. We've seen deer and green woodpeckers here as well as herons and egrets by the riverside. Look forward to some superb real ale when you are back at the pub!
Those walking with dogs may find it useful to know that my Labrador managed all the stiles with ease.

Lovely walk for a winters day out with my best friend Belle. All directions still valid and easy to follow. Very dog friendly and some lovely scenery.

Enjoyed this walk again. The South Downs really are quite lovely and this walk presents an ideal opportunity to enjoy them. The stiles are in even worse condition than they were last year, I'm afraid and it was very muddy in places. So plan accordingly and enjoy. The Flowerpots Inn and Brewery is the ideal spot to enjoy a post walk snack and pint.

A great walk. Some of the stiles were quite rickety and overgrown but nothing that can't be overcome. The Flower Pots Inn is highly recommended for a post-walk pint.

Waymark 6. The barn that is mentioned after walking under the pylons & heading uphill burnt down about a year ago & is now just a chalk scar. Not an issue if the map is being closely followed, but otherwise it could mean the turning to Waymark 7 is missed. Great walk though!

A very plesant Sunday stroll which took us about 2 hours. Quite a bit of the walk is through fields and is quite muddy at this time of year. Nothing was impassable though, even in just my trainers, although I’d recommend doing the walk in drier seasons to others.

A beautiful walk with excellent clear directions. Especially delightful at this time of year with the bluebells out. Had superb food at the Flowerpots with the best ham I have tasted in a long time.

Another fine and well described walk. Very mild for mid November-for how long I wonder?! We did park in Cheriton village as recomended. Car parking not overgood-maybe only temporary situation. Anyway it only adds a few yards to the walk. Many thanks for this Sylvia. Ray & Sheila Churcher

15/10/06 - Kay and Paul Sumpner We thoroughly enjoyed the walk. The waypoints were all well documented and the descriptions were very easy to follow. Some bits are quite wet and muddy already and stout boots would be recommended for winter months. Lovely scenery and very little road work so ideal for dog walkers.

Thanks for this lovely walk. Just a note of interest. Purely by luck The Flower Pot pub was hosting a real ale festival over the August bank Hol. This is a yearly event. Worth noting for next year.

We enjoyed this walk in the sunshine last evening. As always, Sylvia's directions are very easy to follow. This walk has wonderful views of the Meon Valley and it's surrounding countryside without you making any effort to climb. The highlight for us was watching the farmer using his combine harvester to gather in his ripe crop - not something you get to see if you sit indoors watching the television!
