Hove Station - Waterhall - Saddlescombe - Devil's Dyke Circular (using public transport)
Start at Hove Train Station, walk to Hove Recreation Ground and Hove Park, up the Three-Cornered Copse to Red Hill, along the Green Ridge Walk, past a restored dew-pond towards the windmill, down to the playing-fields at Waterhall and up Sweet Hill to join the Sussex Border Path. The route joins the South Downs Way taking us down to Saddlescombe (with optional refreshments or cream tea at the National Trust Saddlescombe Farm). Walk up now to the famous Devil's Dyke, from there take the Number 77 bus (for £2.50 or free with a bus pass, runs hourly from 10am until 17:55 on bank holidays and weekends between October and mid-April and more frequently in the summer, check at http://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk ) either to Brighton Station or a short walk back to Hove Station.
The walk has no stiles but two fairly steep hill climbs. This is a circular walk accessible by public transport.
