You will understand why Jamie Oliver has chosen to make his home here! (You pass close to his property). There are more chocolate-box thatched cottages to the square inch than in almost any other location! Both villages you visit have streams running beside their main streets and there is even the location of a castle to view beside the lovely churchyard in Clavering. You also pass two windmills and fishing lakes with a tea room. With a choice of three pubs too, what else could you require?

At waymark 9 the pond has been enclosed in a private garden. So at the wall in front of the pond turn left (signposted). Exit the farmyard and take the track ahead keeping the garden hedge boundary to your right. As the track bends sharp left take a sharp right for approx 100 meters again keeping the garden boundary to your right. At the field corner go through the hedge into a sunken path at which point you will see the steps described.

A terrific walk, but please note that there is no longer a footbridge through the hedge at (3). Instead the path takes a sharp turn left at beginning of the field and continues along the right side of adjoining field with hedge on your right.
