At WM12, the yellow posts are no longer there, but if you look at the WM photograph you will be able to work out where they were. Basically as the main path curves to the right, turn left.

11/7/2020 Ken Howard Interesting and varied walk on a sunny Saturday. Directions good but please note... (12) should read "bear left through some yellow posts". Also in (16) don't take the Church Road left turn at the end of Brewery Lane (as we did!) but continue straight on which, confusingly, is also Church Road with the church in it.

Really enjoyed this walk. Not the prettiest but plenty of variety and much to see. Particularly liked the section walking along the Brooklands racetrack. Nice and flat without much mud - even after heavy rain.

On the map this walk did not look too promising, but what a surprise! There is a wide variety of things to look at: horses, sheep, crop, busy railways to go over and under, M25 to go over and under, river and canal confluence, boatyards, wharves, lock, a pretty church, Concorde, Mercedes cars whizzing along, and the (very) steep banking of the Brooklands race track to fire the imagination. A great walk!

An easy walk that takes in the Brooklands Museum. If you plan it, you could visit the museum on the walk. Stopping for refreshment in the village of Byfleet refreshes you up for the second half of the walk. The last lap is a nice easy stroll along the canal.
