A short descent brings you to the Medway Valley. A good stretch of the walk is beside the River Medway, before a short, sharp climb back onto the High Weald. Despite the overgrown nature of the paths in summer and an almost complete lack of footpath signs on parts of the route, it is easy to find your way.

While there are no woodland stretches or wild views, we found this a really good walk with friends, you can walk 2 abreast much of the time, instructions are excellent…and it has possibly the most footbridges of any of the north Kent walks. And The Bottle House does a classy lunch and well kept ales.

I considered this a fairly boring walk having to navigate around. Too many crop fields which were featureless
