From the attractive little port-resort of Portpatrick in the Rhins of Galloway area of Wigtownshire, this walk plunges into the cool green depths of Dunskey Glen, following the Dunskey Burn as it burbles down to the sea. The route returns to Portpatrick by way of two lovely, contrasting bays and along the clifftops, with superb views. This has to be my favourite short walk!

We ignored the 'no access to the beach' signs on the first part of the walk as we followed the Public Footpath markers. The views were stunning with a couple of lovely beaches and a waterfall. Definitely a must do walk if you are in the area.

Fab walk on 29.7.23. The sun actually shone. Saw waterfalls, beaches and fab views. Some of the signs are no longer there as the estate has been gentifried by Dunskey estate but with the app you can't get lost. Off to do the other Portpatrick walk now!

A great walk on a beautiful sunny day,my staffie who is in his senior years now loved the cool shaded forest part and a dip in the sea at the secluded coves near the end.We had a good seafood meal at one of the pub/restaurants in the harbour, dog friendly too.Phil Djokic.

Beautiful walk with lovely varied views. Easy to understand instructions by author and no problem following same. The last 1/4 of the walk along the top of the coastal path and along the beaches is stunning. Really enjoyed this walk. Despite Portpatrick itself being really busy when we did it, we only passed 4 other sets of walkers. Real hidden gem. Dog friendly too.

A lovely, varied walk. St Andrew's churchyard is no longer accessible.

A good description. I call it the skylark walk because there was lark song all the time. Clive Simpson
