Keadby Canal - Crowle Linear with a Twist

This is an easy, well-maintained towpath walk to Crowle Railway Station and back, with the opportunity to see a little of the three-river draining system. Before 1628 much of this area around Ealand was waterlogged. Many of the local rivers were rerouted, to facilitate land drainage with updated schemes over the following centuries. This has culminated in the local rivers and drains being diverted by three parallel channels towards the Trent, terminating at the pumping station near Keadby Canal locks.
